Rome Culinary and Cultural Vacation Women's Trip
The International Kitchen, HERizons Travel, and SelfishMe Travel are partnering on a special, one-week Women Only trip to Rome! Join us on on this exploration of Italian food, wine, and culture in the Eternal City.
Whether you have already been to Rome or are a first-time visitor, this one-time-only week will give you the chance to experience it with like-minded female travelers.
The week will feature some of Rome’s highlights: the Vatican, including Saint Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, the sites of Ancient Rome such as the Forum and Colosseum, and even a day-trip to Florence (just 90 minutes away) to see the famed statue of David.
Your Rome culinary vacation for women only will also include cooking classes highlighting delicious Italian pastas, pizza, and desserts, and a foodie walking tour to taste some of the city’s iconic dishes. During your free time you can sit in a piazza with your new friends enjoying a glass of wine, or shop til you drop near the famed Spanish Steps.
Whether you want to join our Women Only Week in Rome because you’ve always wanted to visit Italy, or because you simply want a fun trip with other female foodies, this will be the trip of your dreams!
Highlights of Your Rome Culinary Tour
Highlights of the Rome women only week will include:
- a guided visit to the Vatican, including Saint Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel
- a foodie walking tour in the Trastevere neighborhood
- a market visit
- two cooking classes featuring authentic Italian cuisine
- a day trip to Florence, including guided tour
Itinerary
Day 1 – Sunday, June 23 – Arrival & Foodie Walking Tour
- Arrival in Rome and transfer to your centrally-located hotel.
- Private transfer to the Trastevere neighborhood for your Rome food tour. You will explore the area around the Campo de’ Fiori and the Trastevere neighborhood, just over the river from the ancient center. Your Rome tasting tour will start at 5:00 pm and will include several stops to introduce you to the local specialties. You will also learn more about the history, culture, and architecture of Rome.
- Return transfer to the hotel, and overnight.
Day 2 – Monday, June 24 – Market Visit & Cooking Class
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Today transfer to the heart of the city for a visit of the local Campo de’ Fiori market to select ingredients for your cooking class. Then, head to your cooking class, which depending on the day of the week will take place at one of a few different residences in the city center. You will prepare a full meal, including a few different types of pasta, a main dish, and dessert, then enjoy them all with wine and soft drinks.
- After lunch, time to explore Rome on your own and make your own way back to your hotel.
- Dinner on your own. Overnight.
Day 3– Tuesday, June 25– Vatican City
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Pickup from your hotel and transfer to the Vatican for a 3-hour private tour, including early access passes. You will see all the highlights of the Vatican, including the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, and St. Peter’s Square.
- Time to continue exploring the Vatican on your own after the tour, perhaps climbing the cupola of Saint Peters.
- Make your own way back to the hotel after, exploring Rome along the way.
- This evening, enjoy a wine bar tour with dinner..
Day 4 – Wednesday, June 26 –Florence
- Breakfast, then make your way to the train station for the 90 minute train to Florence (train tickets included).
- You will be met at the train station in Florence, where you will begin your walking tour. Florence is home to some of the world’s finest art. During the Renaissance, its ruling family, the Medici, poured unfathomable amounts of money into its art and architecture, leaving the world such names as Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Brunelleschi, and Raphael. For many, meandering its cobbled piazzas, exploring its winding walkways, and discovering the treasures of its galleries is a dream. Your walking tour will also include tickets to the Galleria dell’Accademia, where Michelangelo’s famous David statue is located.
- Lunch reservations will be made for you in Florence (cost of lunch paid locally).
- Time to explore or shop, then meet back at the train station for your train to Rome. Upon arrival return to your hotel on your own.
- Dinner on your own and overnight.
Day 5 –Thursday, June 27 Free Day
- Breakfast, then enjoy a free day exploring Rome, including its museums, shops, restaurants, and cafes.
- You will have hop-on/hop-off BigBus tickets, which you can use to see the sites and explore as you wish!
- Dinner on your own, overnight.
Day 6 –Friday, June 28 Ancient Rome & Pizza Class
- Breakfast, then pick up from your hotel and transfer to the Colosseum for your 3-hour Ancient Rome tour including the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum, and more.
- Time on your own to explore or to shop and eventually make your own way to the pizza class.
- This evening, at 5:00 pm, meet for your next cooking class, a hands-on pizza making class. You will also learn to make gelato! Dinner with wine to follow.
- Transfer back to the hotel and overnight.
Day 7 –Saturday, June 29 Departure
- Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport for your departing flight.

You home in Rome will be the art deco-inspired hotel UNA Deco. It is a minute’s walk from Termini train and metro stations, as well as the Via Nazionale, and is just 2 kilometers from the Colosseum. The rooms are bright and modern and feature en suite bathrooms, minibars, free Wi-Fi, and flat screen TVs. The hotel also has an elegant restaurant/bar with a terrace.
