Tuscany Tours – Colors and Savors in Florence

The tour begins in Piazza Santa Maria Novella with a visit to the historic Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, considered the oldest pharmacy in Europe, where traditional perfumes and remedies have been produced for centuries.

Continue through charming streets lined with artisan shops selling ceramics, handmade paper and leather goods before reaching Piazza Santa Trinita and the beautiful Church of Santa Trinita, home to remarkable Renaissance frescoes.

Walk along Via Tornabuoni, Florence’s famous fashion street, and reach Via delle Belle Donne, where you can spot one of the city’s historic wine windows. Across the street, stop at the historic Bar Giocosa to enjoy a cappuccino or espresso with chocolate.

The walk then leads through the historic center, passing Palazzo Strozzi, Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria, before stopping at a traditional bakery to taste freshly baked focaccia or pizza.

The tour finishes near the Duomo of Florence and the lively Mercato Centrale in the San Lorenzo district, where you will sample local Tuscan specialties.
