We drove from the Venice airport and it was about an hour drive, through vineyards as you approached the hotel. We had some free time and went to 2 wineries that were recommended by the hotel--all processo tastings of course. We did have a very nice tasting that was included in the program with some food pairing.

The restaurant’s Chef Donato Episcopo combines the traditional tastes of the Veneto cuisine with Apulian flavors to create a unique culinary expression. The chef will guide you in hands-on sessions featuring a traditional menu that you will be able to reproduce easily at home.

Day One

Order of activities may vary depending on the season.

  • Arrival at Villa Abbazia on your own and settle into your accommodations. (Transfers may be arranged/included for an additional cost).
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner a la carte by candlelight in the hotel’s 1-star Michelin restaurant (wines not included).
  • Overnight.

Day Two

  • Following breakfast, your morning will be dedicated to discovering Venetian and Italian products, starting with the famed Prosecco wine. You will be driven into the hills on the Prosecco wine road to discover one of the most prestigious wine cellars with a guide at your side. Wine degustation will follow, and will include such wines as Prosecco and Cartizze.
  • Lunch will be a regional experience such as a “spiedo” (meat roasted on a spit) lunch at a local osteria, or, if available, a seasonal food festival.
  • In the afternoon, your first cooking lesson with the chef for your cooking class. The 4-course meal will feature ancient Venetian cuisine of the Doges, which may include asparagus of Cimadolmo, artichokes of S. Erasmus, mushrooms, and beans of Lamon. Dishes will depend on the time of year, but you will definitely be making a dish born in Treviso: tiramisu!
  • Tasting dinner tonight at the hotel restaurant with the dishes prepared during the lesson.
  • Overnight.

Day Three

  • Breakfast and your next cooking lesson with the chef, followed by a 4-course traditional Italian lunch.
  • In the afternoon, time on your own to discover the wonderful nature surrounding the hotel. Take a walking or biking tour; the hotel’s receptionist will be at your disposal and will provide a full itinerary and map; every difficulty level is available.
  • Casual dinner at the hotel’s Bistro La Cantinetta.
  • Overnight.

  • Breakfast and check out of your accommodations.

Accommodation Information

The Villa is housed in a 17th century building in the historic center of Follina in the province of Treviso. The attention to architectural features and use of authentic materials result in a refined elegance, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
