In the Land of Prosecco

The Veneto is known, of course, for its capital city Venice, one of the most popular destinations in Europe. But just an hour or so to the north, at the foot of the majestic Alps, lies the Prosecco wine-growing area, the charming town of Santo Stefano, and your home for this unique, countryside cooking vacation. The natural beauties of the land, its fertile fields and abundant harvests, its charming and unassuming people, make your agrarian Veneto culinary holiday an exquisitely inviting and relaxing experience. Whether you choose to combine this country Veneto culinary vacation with a stay in Venice (we can help with those arrangements), or on its own, you are sure to have the trip of a lifetime.

Itinerary

Day One

Note: The order of activities may vary depending on the dates booked.

  • Meet around 2PM in the afternoon at the Venice Marco Polo Airport or Mestre train station, and transfer to your B&B, located in the heart of the Prosecco wine-producing area of the Veneto region. (If you are staying in Venice we can also arrange a transfer from the Tronchetto.)
  • Welcome dinner, with a discussion of the week’s activities.

Day Two

  • Breakfast around 8:30 am, and depart for a mountain cheese farm, called “malga” in Italian, where you will see how the cheese is produced. Enjoy a tasting of this delicious product.
  • Afterwards, continue on for our light lunch in a typical local “agriturismo,” a type of vacation farm-house, where local gastronomic specialties are grown and produced.
  • After lunch, a wine tasting in a Prosecco winery.
  • Tired, but happy, transfer back to your B&B to relax before dinner.

Day Three

  • Following breakfast, a short ride to visit the eleventh-century castle Castel Brando and the twelfth-century Follina Abbey.
  • Light lunch to follow in a typical local restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, return to your B&B to relax or have a dip in the swimming pool
  • In the afternoon you will have a private ice cream making lesson.
  • Dinner at the B&B.

Day Four

  • Breakfast, followed by a hands-on cooking lesson. The lesson will be followed by lunch where you will taste all the local specialties that you have learned to prepare in the kitchen.
  • After a little break, depart around 3:30 pm to visit a nearby historical Vittorio Veneto city and do some shopping.
  • Return to your B&B with time to unwind before dinner at 8 pm.

Day Five
