Enjoy an authentic day in rural Normandy! Your hostess Sinéad, Irish by birth, has lived in Normandy for over 15 years. Her philosophy is to share her experience of rural life in northern France by opening her home, heart and kitche to travelers from around the world. She will introduce you to the simple yet delectable flavors of Normandybased on fresh local ingredients and rich flavors.

Your day begins in the morning around 9:00 AM with a visit of the local market in Bricquebec (Mondays) or Les Pieux (Fridays). Sinéad will lead you through the process of choosing the best local ingredients for your cooking course. While you select the fresh produce, you will sample items offered by the proud, enthusiastic stall holders. You might also stop for a coffee at a local café to keep your energy up! At 10:00 AM rendez-vous with Sinéad back at her recently restored 18th-century farmhouse kitchen for your hands-on cooking course. Classes last around 3 hours and generally include the preparation of a complete French meal: an apéritif, generally followed by a seasonal starter, main course, salad, cheese, dessert and coffee, with the emphasis on seasonal, locally-produced ingredients. Lunch of course will follow, wine included.

Great communication with International Kitchen. Market, cooking experience with Sinead in Normandy, France was exceptional, far surpassed our expectations! Market shopping was amazing, we learned alot from Sinead. Cooking class was on time, very well organized and we all had a change at each station with each course. We learned alot, tasted alot and all enjoyed our four course luncheon thanks to Sinead's fabulous personality.

We absolutely loved Normandy and Sinead really made our trip to the region extra special. We stayed at her B&B for three nights, went to the market with her in Bricquebec on Monday and spent the morning cooking with her. The market visit was great and I would highly recommend including it in one's trip. Sinead talked to us about the local food and helped translate with many of the sellers who were very passionate about their food and drinks. She was also very accommodating with our dietary requests. Back in her beautiful kitchen, she taught us some very practical and easy to recreate recipes that were beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. We have already incorporated some of her suggestions since getting home from our trip. Sinead helped us plan day trips for the other two days and recommended a fabulous restaurant for dinner only a few minutes drive from the house that was one of our best meals in France. We truly feel like we made a wonderful new friend and look forward to visiting Sinead and her family again. Lisa and Andy A., MA

Sinead was remarkable! The experience was exactly what I was looking for in a culinary experience. I highly recommend the market tour as well to get real exposure to the region. I absolutely loved everything about our experience. From the market visit to the kitchen, Sinead was informative, experienced, and entertaining! I loved the menu she had for us to explore and found many of her tips informative and useful for other recipes. Her sense of humor made the day so enjoyable, she is so personable and welcoming.
