Lake Garda – Lesson with Chef Andrea

Enjoy a cooking class at a charming venue overlooking Lake Garda, where stunning views abound. The owners, Andrea and Lara, take great pleasure in offering hands-on cooking classes taught by Chef Andrea. Born in Verona, Chef Andrea has had an illustrious international career as a fine chef, but his desire has always been to return to his roots and open his own fine restaurant. He has accomplished his dream and invites you to share his passion. Chef Andrea speaks fluent English.

  • The class will run from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will include the preparation of a starter, first course, main course and dessert.
  • Lunch will follow with local wine, water and coffee.

Class Dates

Available any day you choose April through October except Tuesday for a minimum of 2 people, maximum 6 people. Not available November through March.

Our experience was wonderful in all respects! The setting was beautiful; the cooking class was hands on, the recipes choices were perfect. Chef Andrea and his wife were wonderful. They were so knowledgeable. We enjoyed both the cooking class and the conversation. After the class, they took us to a winery that only added to the experience... We loved the chef and his wife. Their kitchen was in a small village above Lake Garda, and the view was spectacular. They spoke very good English and only resorted to Italian in order to explain something. (My son speaks fluent Italian but I don't.) We were the only students, which made the class very personal. They picked a very simple menu, with high quality products. I have made the tarimisu several times since our return and everyone has raved about it. We also had a chicken dish that was very good, and the appetizer was very good also. We learned a lot. We also enjoyed the visit to the local olive oil museum. I would return to this kitchen, and would not hesitate to refer others to it. It was a very special time for my son and me! Mary, OR

Just being the two of us made it really personal and felt like we had just been invited to a friends for lunch! Chef Andrea and Lara answered all our questions and were really knowledgeable. We learned a lot of tips and techniques. We are now really inspired to try the recipes at home. All in all, the class exceeded our expectations and was one of the highlights of our holiday. I don't think I have enough superlatives in my vocabulary to describe what a wonderful experience we had at Le Gemme. Our experience with Chef Andrea and his wife Lara was fantastic! My sister and I had booked a half-day cooking class as a birthday present to my mother for her 80th birthday. Chef Andrea is an amazing chef. His love of cooking really comes through in his enthusiasm and mastery. It was such a pleasure to have him as our teacher. Although we are all experienced cooks, we learned so much that was new to us. He has a very Zen way of looking at cooking, which was refreshing. Lara has an amazing eye for decorating that is quite unique. From the table settings, to the furniture, to the colors on the wall, everything was in perfect complement. They even made my mother a birthday cake, which made her feel very special. Did I mention the view from the restaurant? It was fabulous. Perched on top of a hill overlooking Lake Garda, it is truly breathtaking. Rarely do things in life surpass our expectations. Our time with Chef Andrea and Lara most certainly did. The entire experience was fantastic. As with others before, finding Le Gemme di Artemisia was the only issue. It is a little difficult but very much worth it. (We may send some suggested changes to their English instructions). Regardless, the beauty of the location, the warmth and friendliness of both Andrea and Lara, and the cooking skills presented and learned were went beyond our expectations. Some of the technique was completely new to all 3 of us, like making pasta from scratch but equally of value was the dexterity with which he took simple ingredients that are found in any kitchen and made a delicious dish that was a complete surprise.
