Málaga Food Tour and Spanish Wine Vacation
Sunny southern Spain is home to some of the country’s greatest cultural treasures. The Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths, and Vandals have all contributed to Andalusia’s cultural fabric through the centuries, but it was the Moors who made the greatest mark, beginning in the 8th century AD when they named the region Al-Andalus.
This fully escorted private tour in Spain will take you deep into Andalusia’s rich cultural and culinary traditions. Start in Picasso’s native city of Málaga, an exciting cultural reference point since it has undergone significant reinvention in recent years with a vibrant and growing foodie scene. Your guides will introduce you to “Malaguenian” gastronomy and will show you some of the regions’ many cultural highlights, including Málaga’s Alcazaba Fortress and the Roman Theater.
Venture outside the city of Málaga for an optional hike along “El Caminito del Rey” and visit some of Andalusia’s famed “white villages” such as Frigiliana. For those doing the 7-night itinerary, head to Ronda for three nights, where you will explore the area’s sherry wines as well as the local olive oil production.
From start to finish your food and wine tour of southern Spain will be saturated in sunshine and good times, and will give you an insider’s perspective of the local cuisine.
