Some of the memorable experiences during your week-long cooking vacation in Tuscany are three cooking classes, including with a Michelin-star chef, as well as cheese making class, a truffle hunt, pastry tasting in Siena, a gelato workshop, a wine tasting in Montalcino, and much, much more.
Small Group Culinary Vacation in a Tuscan Villa

Day One - Arrival

- Late afternoon arrival at the Florence Airport or Train station and transfer to the beautiful Villa Rocchi in Torrita di Siena. Torrita di Siena is perfectly charming Tuscan town about 45 minutes from Siena.
- Check in to your room, then enjoy some time to relax, have a swim in the pool (weather permitting), or stroll through the town just outside the gates of the villa. We can also schedule a massage for you on request.
- Welcome dinner tonight in the villa’s dining room in the early evening.
- Overnight at the villa.
Day Two - Cheese Making and Piensa

- Breakfast
- Start your day with a fun and very Tuscan hands-on cheese making lesson at an artisanal cheese dairy. Lunch will follow.
- After lunch, head to one of the most beautiful hilltop towns in Italy, Pienza, which is perched high on a hilltop and affords unsurpassed views over the Tuscan countryside. You will have time for exploration and shopping at the local artisanal shops or wine bars, or for a gelato.
- To complete the day, head to a local farm just outside of Pienza for a truly Tuscan experience. You will enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun set over the beautiful Tuscan hills, and will then head inside a cozy farmhouse restaurant for your Tuscan dinner.
- Back to the villa, and overnight
Day Three - – Bistecca Fiorentina, Truffle Hunt, Pici Pasta

- Breakfast
- Tuscany is famous for its Bistecca Fiorentina (Florentine beef steaks). You will visit one of the best butchers in Tuscany and learn about the Chianina Beef variety and what makes it so special. Then of course you will enjoy a lunch featuring succulent Chianina steak and other meats. This is a true Farm to Fork Experience!
- In the afternoon you will make truffles with pici pasta, one of the most Tuscan of pasta shapes. First have a Truffle Hunt with a local truffle hunter and his dog, and then a Pici pasta making class in the evening with a local nonna back at Villa Rocchi. Enjoy the experiences of foraging, cooking, then sitting down to a well-earned dinner made from your own efforts.

Day Four - Siena, Pastry Tasting

- Breakfast
- Depart on a half-day guided tour of Siena, one of Italy’s loveliest medieval cities. You will experience the glory of the Romanesque-Gothic architecture, and you will see Il Campo, where they run the Palio (the famous horse race) through the center of town twice each year, along with many of Siena’s other gems.
- Stop also for a tasting of their renowned pastries of Siena. You will have time to explore and shop among the excellent and abundant ceramic, leather and other artisanal shops. Lunch on your own in Siena.
- In the afternoon, transfer back for some leisure time. .
- Dinner will be served in the villa.
- Overnigh
Day Five - Brunello di Montalcino, Pizza Making

- After breakfast, head out to explore fine Tuscan wines. You will start with a visit of a family-owned organic winery, I Cipressi, near Montalcino, which produces the fine Brunello di Montalcino wine. Of course, enjoy a tasting of the wine (and also an organic honey tasting).
- Visit the small town of Montalcino for lunch and have some free time for shopping and exploration.
- In the evening, you will have a fun Pizza making experience at a local restaurant, Ristorante Piccolo, which is a short walk from the villa.
- Overnight
Day Six - Class with Silvia Baracchi, Cortona

- Breakfast.
- Today you will have a very special cooking class with Michelin-Star Chef Silvia Baracchi, one of our favorite chefs, at her renowned Il Falconiere estate in the countryside near Cortona.
- Lunch to follow, then head to the lovely center of Cortona, which was made famous as the location of the “Under The Tuscan Sun” book and movie.
- Free time for strolling through town before heading back to the Villa.
- Dinner will be at Villa Rocchi.
- Overnight
Day Seven - Montepulciano, Gelato Lesson, Farewell Dinner

- Breakfast.
- Today head first to Montepulciano, one of Tuscany’s most famous wine-making areas .for a tour of the town and its vast underground caves and tunnels, which were first created by the Etruscans 3000 years ago and are still used as wine cellars for storing and aging wine today!
- Enjoy lunch in town along with an artisanal gelato-making lesson.
- Free time to explore or sit in the piazza with a coffee or glass of wine before heading back to the villa for a bit of relaxation and packing before dinner.
- Your farewell dinner tonight will be at the famous Antinori winery and Estate.
- Overnight
Day Eight - Departure

- Breakfast
- Checkout early to mid morning, and transfer to the Florence airport, train station, or city center.
- Arrivederci!
