The Amalfi Coast and Sorrentine Peninsula are stunning and fun destinations for our culinary vacations in Italy. Sorrento is perched dramatically on the cliffs overlooking the sea, and it offers plenty of shopping, restaurants, and a lively main square, not to mention a port that gives you access by boat to many different towns and islands in the region.
Naples is the third largest city in Italy, yet it is a warm, friendly place full of life. It lies on the Gulf of Naples and in the shadow of Vesuvius, the infamous volcano that buried two cities and left countless dead in A.D. 79. It might be this constant reminder of one’s mortality that makes Naples so unlike other Italian cities, or it could be the 4000 years of history, full of strife and glory, but Naples is unlike any other cities we’ve visited. It is a land of kingdoms, poverty, la Camorra, art, cuisine, and kindness. Naples is – quite simply – amazing, and well worth visiting on a culinary tour of Italy.
Your culinary tour to the Amalfi Coast and Naples will include a pizza-making session, a gelato class, as well as a hands-on cooking class featuring traditional Italian dishes. You will also enjoy foodie excursions to sample locally specialities and the delicious regional wines that are produced at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. Your tastebuds will sing when they experience the fresh seafood paired with fruity white wines, as well as hearty pastas and sauces served with local red wines.
The best part of our Amalfi Coast culinary tour in Sorrento and Naples might just be the chance to delve into the local culture while experience some of the world’s most beautiful sites.
