Itinerary

Day One

Order of activities may vary depending on day of arrival and the season.

  • Arrive at the villa on your own and settle into your superior room accommodations.
  • Take time to stroll the beautiful gardens and perhaps enjoy an aperitif at the villa’s piano bar.
  • In the evening, a welcome dinner awaits you at Villa Luppis’ Restaurant Carpe Luppis. Since Villa Luppis is located between Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, its chefs specialize in traditional foods of both regions (drinks not included.)
  • Overnight.

Day Two

  • After breakfast, meet Villa Luppis’ chef for your first cooking lesson. The chef will explain the historical significance of the dishes and methods taught as you learn to make a two-course traditional Veneto meal.
  • Tasting to follow (drinks not included). If you are still hungry, you can have lunch in the villa’s restaurant (cost not included).
  • In the afternoon, visit Palladin winery for a wine tasting.
  • Next, it’s on to a grappa distillery that produces the world famous Alexander Grappa; witness the ritualistic and poetical process that is required to make this unique digestivo including the blowing of the glass bottle that the grappa will eventually be bottled in.
  • The afternoon activities ends with a trip to the exclusive McArthur & Glen Designer Outlet Village, where guests can shop for all their favorite brands (Armani, Burberry, Calvin Klein, etc) at an additional 10% off discount.
  • Dinner tonight is a barbecue at Villa Luppis, with meal served in an area overlooking the park and swimming pool. When the lanterns are turned on, it feels a bit magical! During the Winter, the barbecued meal will be served in one of the restaurants. (Drinks not included).
  • Overnight.

Prior to being seated for dinner, take a tour of the 13th century cellar (once an ice cellar) by Villa Luppis’ sommeliers; after a quick lesson on the different wines and how they best pair with food, pick the wines to enjoy with your dinner.

Accommodation Information

Tucked in this northeastern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia is the timeless and absolutely breathtaking Villa Luppis. Built in the 11th Century as a monastery for the Camaldolite monks, Villa Luppis survived war and Napoleon’s conquest. In the 1800s, the Luppis family acquired the property and turned it into a country home for entertaining. The Luppis family continues to own the villa, but they have renovated it tremendously over the years to best showcase its complex historic background and regional art styling. The gorgeous private estate is a 4-star hotel with 39 rooms, and luscious gardens that provide plenty of places for relaxation and serenity. Some of the rooms are decorated in period furniture and French frescos; all rooms have a relaxing and romantic atmosphere, and feature modern-day comforts. The estate also features a piano bar, two restaurants, pool, tennis court, workout facility, spa, and wi-fi.
