Experience Friuli Cuisine During Villa Luppis Cooking Vacations

The Villa Luppis, home for your culinary vacation in ItalyDiscover the history and gastronomy of northern Italy with a trip to Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, a mouthful of a name for the region that lies most northeast in Italy. Known as the “land of contrasts,” this beautiful destination is known for its varied landscape, impressive mountains, stunning caves and rock formations, and production of a number of red and white wines that are sold around the world. UNESCO sites such as the ancient Roman city of Aquileia and the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites are historic and geographical wonders of the region.

In addition to the beautiful diverse landscape, Friuli Venezia Giulia has a rich history of connecting Italy with the rest of Central and Eastern Europe culturally, economically, and gastronomically. Unique flavors and practices have developed with their wines, cheeses, meats, and other culinary treasures because of its special Northeastern Italian background and traditions; Prosciutto di San Daniele is perhaps one of its most well-known and popular exports, but the area also produces a range of salami and pork products, strudels, and polenta. Explore these characteristic delights by experiencing them firsthand on one of our fantastic culinary vacations.

Just an hour’s drive from Venice, its proximity to Austria, Slovenia, and the Veneto to its West, make it a land unlike any other with unique flavors and techniques that you will explore on your cooking vacation. Stay at a private estate and its gorgeous villa-turned-hotel, complete with beautiful gardens and plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy during your relaxing northern Italy culinary vacation.

Accommodation Information

Tucked in this northeastern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia is the timeless and absolutely breathtaking Villa Luppis. Built in the 11th Century as a monastery for the Camaldolite monks, Villa Luppis survived war and Napoleon’s conquest. In the 1800s, the Luppis family acquired the property and turned it into a country home for entertaining.

The Luppis family continues to own the villa, but they have renovated it tremendously over the years to best showcase its complex historic background and regional art styling. The gorgeous private estate is a 4-star hotel with 39 rooms, and luscious gardens that provide plenty of places for relaxation and serenity.

Some of the rooms are decorated in period furniture and French frescos; all rooms have a relaxing and romantic atmosphere, and feature modern-day comforts. The estate also features a piano bar, two restaurants, pool, tennis court, workout facility, spa, and wi-fi.
