Amalfi – Lesson with Giovanna and Ramona in a Lemon Grove

The lemon tour of their lemon gardens was incredible. Learned many things about lemons especially that they are not native to Italy. Salvatore spoke with such passion about their family business which is an art form. We were in a group of about 14 people and we were the only 2 to stay for the cooking class. This was with Sal's wife, sister-in-law, son, nephew and cousin. It was truly a family affair and after we cooked in this lovely outdoor kitchen, we all sat at a long table and ate this delicious meal. This was truly a highlight of our visit to the Amalfi Coast and I would highly recommend it anyone going to that region. Annette and Brooke B., NJ

The planning for this trip started over two years ago. The top two musts - going to the Amalfi Coast and taking a cooking class!… The trip was everything I had hoped for and more… It made sense (and was quite reassuring) to book through The International Kitchen. Living in Chicago myself, I liked that I could call you to ask specific questions about the classes (as well as Amalfi in general). Truth be told, I must have called your organization four times! The man I spoke with (each time) also provided feedback on which city to stay based on what was on our agenda. We ultimately chose Sorrento (and his endorsement was much appreciated). When we decided on the one-day class, we felt that cooking with a family in a lemon grove (or "farm" as the family calls it) would be a truly unique experience. We were able to schedule it on a Saturday (in which we celebrated my friend Becky's birthday) and ended up being the only participants that day. We loved learning the history of the family, walking through the lemon grove and spending time with such delightful hosts. Not only learning recipes but having such a hands-on experience preparing the food followed by a meal with the family was truly magnificent! And, delicious! It truly was a wonderful experience and one I would recommend to anyone. [Regarding The International Kitchen staff:] As mentioned above, the man I spoke with (no fewer than four times) was not only most helpful with choosing the class but was happy to talk through some of the logistics of staying on the coast.
