Irish Food Tour of Dublin and Cork

Mizen Head BridgeIreland is known for its panoramic vistas of cliffs and greenery, populated by vibrant cities, and peppered with charming villages and friendly locals.

Cork, IrelandCounty Cork is Ireland’s largest county, located at its Southernmost tip and home to the famous Blarney stone, which is said to grant the gift of gab to all who kiss it. The county is named for Cork City, which is Ireland’s second-largest city with a bustling harbor that was originally founded as a monastic settlement. The city center is itself an island located between two channels of the River Lee. Cork is known for its vibrant theater and music scene, and their indoor English Market features a plethora of local products that will delight the tastebuds. County Cork’s natural landscape offers mountainous terrain and sandy beaches, with plenty of beautiful walking and biking trails.

During your tour, you will find that Ireland favors fresh, farm-to-table cuisine. Some of the classic Irish dishes you will taste on this trip may include, but are not limited to:

  • Full Irish Breakfast:  Eggs, bacon, sausage, black pudding, white pudding, baked beans, and grilled tomato.
  • Irish Stew: A delicious stew of mutton or beef, carrots, potatoes, and onion.
  • Colcannon: Mashed potatoes mixed with scallions, kale, or cabbage.
  • Boxty: Irish potato pancake.
  • Soda Bread: Bread made with buttermilk and baking soda
  • Seafood Chowder: Creamy soup made with salmon, shellfish, and cod.

The 8-night version of our Ireland foodie tour starts with two nights in Dublin – the capital of the Irish Republic and one of Europe’s most vibrant cities. Over a thousand years old, the turbulent history and rich traditions of the city have inspired writers, artists and musicians through the ages. Today, artists are still attracted to Dublin’s easy- going lifestyle and the city has become a thriving center of culture. The new wave of cafes and restaurants act as meeting places for peaople of all ages, while traditional Dublin pubs remain world-famous for their informal atmosphere and lively conversation. The city emanates with energy and pleasure  –  from the rich aroma of the hops being roasted in the Guinness brewery to the salty tang of the sea lingering in the air. Nighttime entertainment is a lively mix of world-class theater, old-style cabaret, as well as concerts featuring genres such as classical, rock, jazz, and folk. Above all, Dublin is a small city, where visitors can feel at home after even the shortest stay.

Ireland is the perfect destination for nature-lovers, foodies, and history buffs in search of their next great adventure.

Our Irish Food Tours can be easily modified to meet your travel needs! We also offer itineraries and extensions in Southwest Ireland and Killarney
