Your home for this unique Scottish cooking vacation is Dalriada, once the kingdom of ancient Scotland, which is located in the unspoiled coastal region known as the Mid Argyll. Stay near Dunadd, the historical capital of Scotland, where Scottish kings used to be crowned, and experience the wild and wonderful nature of rural Scottish life in this unique Scottish Highlands area. Your excursions will vary by season but will include such fun trips as guided whiskey tastings, visits to the Scottish islands, excursions to castles, forts, stone circles, and more.

Scotland has a wealth of natural products that you will use to create your meals: produce from the rich mountains and glens, wild game from the moorlands, venison from the mountains, salmon and trout from the rivers, shellfish of all kinds from the sea, and beef and lamb from the Highland herds. You will use these ingredients and more to create a wide variety of delicious feasts featuring traditional and modern Scottish dishes.

From the moment we were greeted at Glasgow Airport until we were farewelled at Glasgow Airport a week later, all we had to do was relax and enjoy the friendly people, interesting sights, fascinating history, high quality food, comfortable accommodation, all transport for travel arranged.

We attended the Cooking School in early fall for a wonderful week in western Scotland. Jane and Brian are excellent hosts, excellent tour guides, and of course, excellent cooks! The countryside is beautiful and dotted with black sheep and the adorable and unique Highland cows. Brian took us on day trips to learn the history of the area, to a distillery for a whisky tasting and one day with Jane, on a picnic to the Isle of Luing and on to Crinan ... so charming. We cooked an array of Scottish foods every day ... all were delicious! Jane is amazing preparing meals in her sweet, tiny kitchen. And, with no shortcuts - everything is mixed by hand, mostly organic, and all cooking included good stories and laughs. We met Brian and Jane’s friends for drinks and dinner - a fantastic experience to be able to mix with local folks! Our cottage was cozy and just right for our stay, and included a front yard view of the canal! We highly recommend a culinary week in this tiny town with Jane and Brian cooking authentic Scottish dishes. We will never forget our wonderful experience!
