Overview

Travels with Karen to Southern France May 2020

This is a somewhat “undiscovered” region in the southern area of France. Our tour will encompass the Languedoc Rouissillon region , which extends from border of Provence to the Pyrenees and the border of Spain, and Aquitane, also part of the region. Like almost anywhere you may visit in France, this region it is historically significant, scenically beautiful, very diverse, great regional food and wine, and, best of all, not overrun with tourists.

Often called “the other Provence,” it is a major area of wine production, (which we will have the opportunity to experience,) along with visits to fortified cities, medieval villages, World Heritage sites, the legendary Canal du Midi, local market visits and much more. Accommodations will be at two boutique 4* properties.

This promises to be a popular tour and participation is on a first come, first serve basis, with the exception of a prior offer to repeat travelers. Tour is limited to seven (7) participants, accompanied by Karen.

Accommodation Information

Your accommodation in Marseillan:
The infinite expanse of the sea, the endless calm of the lagoon, the restful view of the Mont Saint Clair. Land, sea and sky blend together. The only movements are flamingos taking flight. Live in the moment, without any limitations, enjoy the view, and share our special place.
In the 18th century, between Montpellier and Béziers, a mansion hidden by foliage in the middle of the countryside was called a folly. Come and stay at the Domain and share in our “folly”. There are four rooms and suites in the mansion itself, nine lodges in the 13th century barn with a traditional thatched reed roof, 2 artists’ residences and a SPA, tucked away in the winery of this former vineyard. We seek to maintain a warm, family atmosphere, so that you can completely relax in a quiet, secluded environment.

Your accommodation in Uzès
Hotel Entraigues**** is not an establishment like the others.
Old mansion of the fifteenth century, it is a jewel of architecture nestled in the heart of the historic center of Uzès.
Authentic, atypical and resolutely modern, the hotel Entraigues is the charm in its purest form.
Its rooftop overlooking the rooftops of Uzès offers a breathtaking view on the famous Fenestrelle tower. Its swimming pool located on the first floor provides a feeling of relaxation out of the ordinary.
