Barcelona – Walking Foodie Tour and Private Class

Immerse yourself in the world of gourmet Spanish cuisine with this unique walking tour and cooking class in the heart of Barcelona. Your day starts at 9 AM with a pick up at your centrally-located hotel and then it’s off to the Gothic Quarter, a neighborhood also known as the Cathedral Quarter. Your guide will show you around Las Ramblas, one of the most famous pedestrian-only streets in the country. Stop at wonderful artisan and speciality shops, as well as tiendas selling the best Spanish olive oils, meats, pastries, wines, chocolates, and more. The chef will gladly answer questions about any of the products in the stores, while also highlighting all the most important historic buildings in the Gothic Quarter.

Next, it’s on to Boqueria market with a stop at Pinotxo bar, one of the top counter restaurants in Barcelona. Take a short break and enjoy a tapa (snack) with a glass of wine before the market visit begins. This market is frequented daily by locals for the best produce, cheeses, olive oils, etc. While perusing the many market stalls, the chef will regale you with personal stories about the market as well as highlight some of the locally-grown products and locally-caught fish. After selecting some ingredients for the class, head to the professionally-equipped kitchen just 50 meters away.

In your private Spain cooking class, you’ll learn to prepare a 4-course meal, including a soup, appetizer, main dish, and desserts, which you’ll get to feast on during lunch with some local wine. This is truly an amazing experience that everyone, including families, can enjoy!

The International Kitchen staff was so helpful that they were the first place I went when looking for tours in Barcelona! They were able to answer questions and were willing to research and put together whatever we wanted. We want to thank The International Kitchen and Peg Kern for the personal help. We were three women traveling in Spain for the first time. It was a comfort to know that there was someone who could answer our questions and help with our itinerary. Our Gaudi tour was well worth the time and cost--which was minimal in comparison to other tours. We were more relaxed knowing that we were in competent hands before we even left. Donna A., CA
