Provence Cooking Vacation: Discover Provence in Photos

Provence remains a top destination in all of France due to its beautiful views, olives, cheeses, and so much more. It offers the culinary traveler a wealth of lesser known villages, such as Tavel, known for its sweet AOC French rosé, Saint-Remy, known for its weekly market and the Saint-Paul de Mausole, where Van Gogh received psychiatric treatment, and Gordes, the picturesque town in the Vaucluse.

Not to mention the countryside that lies between them, where vineyards, lavender fields, mountains, and forests abound, and amazing gastronomy. Provence is a sunny southern region known for its Mediterranean flavors, luscious olive oils, fresh seafood, home-grown procuce, and more.

But it also boasts amazing cities, such as Avignon, home to the Popes’ Palace and the Pont d’Avignon, Orange, home to the famed, beautiful intact Roman amphitheater, Aix, a bustling university town and home to Cezanne’s workshop, and of course seaside Nice and Marseille.
