Romantic cooking vacations in Italy and France

While Valentine's Day is just around the corner, romantic cooking vacations can be planned for any time of year (but it's not too late to book a trip for February 14 either!) In these cooking vacation suggestions, you and your sweetie will be spoiled in a beautiful European setting.

In France, Chateau de Berne is a "dream." The Provence hotel is a popular retreat for honeymooners and those looking for romance, and not just because of the elegant rooms complete with either a balcony or sun terrace. You'll be staying in the lap of luxury here, as you enjoy the gardens, pool, and spa. "The location was a paradise in Provence -- an oasis actually. Amenities were charming. The chefs were outstanding!!!" says Vanessa N. of California. Located in the Provencal countryside, the Chateau de Berne is a wonderful estate that feels like a small Provencal village.

If you're looking for romance in an urban area, then there's no city more romantic than Paris. Between visiting the Eiffel Tower and taking a Citroen 2CV Tour by night (complete with champagne), a Paris cooking class is a wonderful activity for a couple to participate in together. For one, you can learn how to make delicious desserts with numerous chefs, including Marthe, Eric, and Frederic. For a more inclusive option, consider our vacation, "A Parisien Rendez-Vous".

Over in Italy, spoil yourself and stay at the Grand Hotel Villa Cora during our Tuscany cooking vacation "Beyond Deluxe: Five Star Dream." Located a short ride from Florence, the deluxe hotel is a 19th-century mansion renovated to five-star standards. When not cooking in the kitchen with Chef Federico Vannini or touring Tuscany, you'll have time by the luxurious garden and pool.

Another wonderful location for a romantic vacation is the Amalfi Coast with its amazing views and stunning sunsets. One particular cooking vacation of interest is "Blue Sky and Sea of Amalfi," where all rooms come with a jacuzzi bath. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous here, and from the modern hotel you can enjoy views of the islands of Ischia and Capri. "The view was beyond anything you can imagine, what a thrill it was to wake up and open the curtains," says Kelly B. of Canada. "This hotel is amazing, everyone we met in the area would ask where we were staying, and then comment that this is the best hotel in the area, quite a compliment from the locals!"
