New cooking vacations and classes in 2013

Next January 03, 2013 Previous

Happy New Year! As 2013 gets underway, we're excited to offer more wonderful cooking vacation and class opportunities, in addition to the nearly 100 vacations and 50-plus classes that we already feature on our site. We choose everything we offer carefully, and every experience is designed to create a memorable trip abroad for you and your family. Here are some of the new programs we've recently added to the Website:

Spain cooking classes
We're continuing to expand in Spain, so keep an eye on the Spain cooking vacation page as well! In the meantime, if you're heading to Barcelona, consider heading the Boqueria market in Barcelona before taking part in a class focused on Catalan cuisine. We're also offering a walking foodie tour followed by a private class.

France cookery courses
In the popular Provence region, visit Les Halles food market in Avignon and cook with Chef Julien. Additionally, head over to the beautiful town of Cadenet to learn from renowned Chef Reine Sammut. She also leads our newest Provence cooking vacation, which includes 3 nights in a suite at Auberge la Fenière, all breakfasts and dinners, as well as 2 hands-on classes followed by lunch.

Italy classes, tours, and vacations
In the heart of Sorrento, take part in a hands-on Amalfi cooking class in a popular local restaurant that prides itself on art: both in its creative Italian dishes and the photography that adorns the walls. After being picked up at your centrally-located hotel, visit the local market and grocery store before heading to the kitchen to prepare a 3-course Italian lunch.

Heading north, stop in Florence for a 3-hour walking tour "Colors and Savors in Florence." A native Florentine guide will take you around to the lesser known corners of the city. Not only will you witness some beautiful historical pieces, but you'll sample some world-famous products, such as irresistible foccacia.

In the food basket of Italy, tour food factories -- where prosciutto, parmigiano cheese, and balsamic vinegar is made -- and stop at a local winery for lunch. We're also offering a cooking class in an agriturismo in the countryside.

Up in the Veneto, take part in two new Venice cooking classes. In Osteria al Assassini, create some local gastronomic dishes in the kitchen of Chef Giuseppe Galardi. On Murano Island, discover a love of slow food and the secrets of Venetian cuisine in the restaurant Acqua Stanca. Both of these courses can also be taken during the 5-night program "Venice Cooking Odyssey."

Israel cooking vacation
Last but definitely not least, for the first time ever, we'll be offering a trip to Israel. This very special 6-night vacation will be led by the chefs of our very popular Le Calabash program, Sidney and Alison. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore an extraordinarily diverse food culture, which includes visits to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa.

Continue to keep an eye on our Website and the blog for more updates. In the coming month, we'll also be adding a wine trip in Provence, a class in Dijon as well as one in a Roman castle, wine tour in Florence, a couple Liguria classes, a program in a French chateau, and a cooking vacation in Portugal. As always, feel free to contact us about these or any of our other classes.

Have a great 2013!
