Solo travelers: Cooking vacation options

Next July 19, 2012 Previous

Most of our programs require a minimum of two people to run -- but that doesn't mean we don't have culinary vacation options for people traveling by themselves! If you see a cooking vacation that you'd like to go on, for example, make sure to check the "tour dates." You'll see this symbol † next to dates that we've already booked with clients; solo travelers can join any of these confirmed weeks. We also offer a couple of culinary vacations that can be confirmed for just one person.

Loire cooking vacation: A Culinary Adventure at Le Calabash

Stay in a small French hamlet and learn about traditional French cooking with a husband and wife team. Even as a solo traveler, you'll get to experience some wonderful excursions that will take you around the Loire, including a visit of Chateau Chenonceau as well as Loches with its medieval citadel. Of course, this trip also includes French cooking lessons. Not only will you discover the art of curing salmon, for example, but you'll also learn how to create amazing French desserts with award-winning Chef Alison.

Intensive cooking vacations: Stages

At The International Kitchen, we also offer a handful of intensive cooking programs that can be confirmed for just one person. These 'stages' include a cooking class every morning, and then you're free in the afternoon to either join the chef in the kitchen again or explore the area. We offer a cooking vacation stage in Umbria in the town of Norcia as well as in Tuscany with Chef Claudio. A third stage is available in France at Le Calabash in the Loire Valley.

For details about these programs, please peruse our Website. As always, feel free to call us at (312) 467-0560 and/or email us at info@theinternationalkitchen.com.
