Why We Recommend Travel Insurance

If the subzero temperatures earlier this week teach us anything about travel, whether you were in "Chiberia" or otherwise, it's that weather can be unpredictable, and it can have an impact on whether you get to your destination on time. That's one major reason that we recommend travel insurance to all our cooking vacation clients, whether they're traveling in the Winter or Summer. You may have every last detail of your trip planned, but the one thing you can't guarantee is if you make that connecting flight, for example.

TravelThe policy we offer with Travelex can help cover incidents related to trip interruption and cancellation, and that often includes weather-related incidents. It can also help cover expenses related to lost luggage as well as unexpected illness (for your or a family member) before or during your trip. Pair these perks with 24-hour emergency assistance services, and it's easy to see the benefits of travel insurance, particularly for an overseas trip. (For a full top 10 list of why we recommend insurance, see our Website.)

While the Travelex Custom TraveLite policy we currently offer will no longer be available as of February 1, we will be offering a new Travelex policy called Travel Select. This policy offers all the same benefits, and, like many insurance policies, can give you peace of mind after you book your trip. But whether you purchase this policy through us, or insurance through another provider, we strongly urge that you consider insurance. After all, no matter how excited you are for your trip, sometimes circumstances can just be simply out of your control.
