Chef Andrea is obsessed with all things Tuscan, but in particular of the Chianti region in which he was born and raised. He knows the ingredients, the wineries, the artisanal producers – and in fact he grows and produces many of his one ingredients! Gather eggs for breakfast or vegetables in the garden. Head to the forest to forage for wild herbs and mushrooms. Visit his friends the butcher, the wine maker, the olive mill owner. All while learning simple but delicious recipes that you will be able to replicate at home and while staying in the charming farmhouse B&B that was part of Andrea’s family home.

Truly Tuscany: Wine Tasting Tour on Tuscany’s Western Coast

The western coast of Tuscany is a wild and beautiful land, and one that is surprising not visited by tourists like the other parts of the region. This is the land of Bolgheri and Super Tuscan wines, of Carrera marble, and of the sea. One of our longest running and most successful Italy vacation packages is Classic Tuscan Table in the town of Figline Valdarno. Located about 40 minutes south of Florence, this town is utterly authentic. Visit the market in the main square on Tuesday morning to select ingredients for your cooking classes. Learn Tuscan recipes with a local woman and enjoy them afterwards with wonderful Tuscan wines. Stay in a converted villa that has housed such illustrious guests as humanist Marsilio Ficino, King Carlo VII of Borbone, King Carlo V, and Pope Leone X. The villa today includes a museum and incorporates the old medieval walls.

Tuscan Splendor

Part of what makes this Italy cooking vacation package so special are the hosts. David and his mother Gabriella will welcome you into this beautiful oasis in southern Tuscany, where you will discover the flavors of Tuscan cuisine and the wines of Montepulciano, among others.
