We love the Veneto region and are always surprised that it’s not more known among our clients. We understand that Venice is the main attraction. It’s Venice! But there are a lot of beautiful and interesting towns in the Veneto (Verona! Treviso! Borghetto!), not to mention the gorgeous countryside from the Adriatic Sea up to the Dolomite Mountains. The cuisine is of course influence by this landscape and varies as you travel from mountain to valley to seaside.

Villa Cordevigo in ItalyWe are very excited about our latest itinerary in the wonderful region, our Five-Star Retreat in the Veneto. Here are 3 reasons why it should be your next trip!

1) Five-Star!
This might sound obvious, but this five-star retreat is at a gorgeous five-star estate! Long the home of nobles, the historic villa was renovated into a deluxe resort while retaining the original architectural details and old-world charm. From the grand cypress-lined drive to the period furniture, it is like stepping back in time. But the bathrooms, services, and spa are all as modern as you could wish.

Chef at Villa Cordevigo 2) Cook with a Nonna and a Michelin-Star Chef
The two cooking classes you enjoy during your weeklong cooking vacation are quite different, and both wonderful. The first is with the Michelin-Star Chef Giuseppe D’Aquino of the Ristorante Oseleta. This fun class will focus on some of the stuffed pastas for which the region is known, and the small class size (maximum 6 people) makes it an intimate experience. The second class is with “Nonna” (“Grandma”) Alda at her home, which provides a completely different but still intimate chance to immerse yourself in ltalian life!

Ancient Roman ruins in Verona3) Verona
Verona is one of our favorite towns in Italy. Not only the fabled home of Romeo and Juliet, it is a beautiful place of terracotta roofs, Roman ruins, stately churches, and public squares. We think it is one of the most quintessentially Italian towns, and would encourage everyone to put it on their list of “must-see” places.

If you’d like to learn more about our Five-Star Retreat in the Veneto you can see the complete itinerary. The cost for 6 nights starts at just $2685 per person – which for a luxury retreat of this caliber cannot be beat! Please contact us to book your trip or with questions!
