Andalusia Cooking in Andalusian Olive Country | Read
more... | Such a wonderful environment to learn. Clive and Maki took such excellent care of us and welcomed us into their family environment. The food was superb and surpassed all of the restaurants in Granada where we spent a few days before traveling onwards. We loved all of the different activities and Clive and Maki were more than willing to accommodate our interests. In particular, my mother wanted to do some horse riding and we were able to juggle the schedule to allow for it. We would definitely recommend this course to other people.

Malaga - Lesson with Chef Sergio | Read
more... | Sergio was the most charming and personable chef you would ever want to have a class with. We had a great time, ate wonderful food, and drank great wine. I have already made several of the things we made in his class at home!! The trip to the market is a not-to-be-missed experience. We saw things we've never seen before, were able to make purchases of spices and nuts to bring home with us to help us recreate some of our class treats and bought fresh fruits. With Sergio's tips, we had the most wonderful strawberries in lemon juice for breakfast the next day. This market a highlight for me. Cooking in Sergio's home was another highlight. It really gave us a feel for everyday life in Spain, which is why we took the class to begin with. While we know that probably everyone does not have a gourmet chef living with them, we loved seeing the area and it was a very personal experience. It is a personal choice, but I wouldn't have minded having others in class that were not traveling with me. Part of the fun is getting to know new people and chatting and eating with them; exchanging information and travel tips with new people is always enjoyable.
The International Kitchen staff was so helpful that they were the first place I went when looking for tours in Barcelona! They were able to answer questions and were willing to research and put together whatever we wanted.
We want to thank The International Kitchen and Peg Kern for the personal help. We were three women traveling in Spain for the first time. It was a comfort to know that there was someone who could answer our questions and help with our itinerary... We were more relaxed knowing that we were in competent hands before we even left.

more... | Yvan and Yuki did a fabulous job of planning the vacation and then making sure that every event was perfect. They were also so flexible. When they realized that we might like to go to see how cheese or candy was made rather than go to a ceramics factory, the plan was changed instantly (which I am sure was not an instantaneous change, but it did seem to be to us). What was special? Look at our itinerary, everything ties for first place. However, if I had to pick, it would be the cooking school. The Chef and his assistants were a delight and the meals fabulous. It was a wonderful way to share time with friends and very relaxing.

Our Gaudi tour was well worth the time and cost--which was minimal in comparison to other tours. We were more relaxed knowing that we were in competent hands before we even left. Donna A., CA |

Greece Greek Cooking Odyssey | Read
more... | The trip was amazing -- even better than I expected. Katerina was a wonderful hostess. Her generosity of spirit was overwhelming. When we were out and about on the island and would run into friends and relatives of Katerina, she would always introduce us as her friends and through her actions, she always made us feel that way. In fact, I went and played doubles tennis with Katerina's regular group one night during my trip. Cooking in her kitchen was like cooking in the kitchen of a friend. Part of that friendliness related to the small group size. At maximum the week I was there, only two other people were cooking, and for much of the time, there were only two of us total. We enjoyed cooking together so much that we chose to cook every night rather than going out to eat. All the food we cooked was delicious. The accommodations were pleasant. Just a block off the beach, there was always time for a swim, and Poros, while small and off the beaten path, gave a good sense of Greek island life. Since I got home, I've been in regular email contact with Katerina and Brian and would relish the opportunity to go back and visit again any time. Susan, MS |
