A Taste of Catalonia Itinerary

  • Arrival and transfer (around 4:00 PM) from the Barcelona airport or train station to the hotel.
  • A welcome dinner tonight at a local restaurant, featuring traditional Catalan dishes.
  • Return to the hotel, overnight.
  • Following a wonderful breakfast, it is on to a visit of the lovey village Pals and its weekly market.
  • Next, it is off to a local winery for a wine tasting.
  • Lunch will be at a typical Catalan restaurant, local wine included.
  • Depart for the local port of Palamos to see the arrival of the fishermen’s boats and to visit the fish market.
  • In the evening, your first cooking lesson with Chef David at the restaurant of the hotel. Your lesson will focus on traditional Catalan cuisine. Dinner to follow based on your efforts.
  • Breakfast.
  • After breakfast at the hotel, a visit to a local chocolate maker and a local cheese factory.
  • Next you are off for a visit to the lovely medieval city of Girona. This is a city dating from pre-Roman times and full of historical sites.
  • You will have lunch in a restaurant that specializes in Catalan dishes with a modern touch.
  • Visit of the Cathedral and old quarter of Girona, with some free time for shopping on your own.
  • Dinner on your own in Girona (your guide can make some recommendations.
  • Transfer back to hotel and overnight.
  • After breakfast at the hotel, morning free to relax.
  • Lunch in a traditional Catalan restaurant, including the traditional “Thursday’s rice” dish.
  • In the afternoon your second cooking class on Catalan “tapas.”
  • Dinner based on your efforts.
  • Breakfast and farewell. Transfer to Barcelona airport or train station
