About
the location: L'Albereta, a luxurious 19th century converted villa in Franciacorta,
Lombardy is a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux group,
and presently owned by the Moretti family, who also own the Bellavista
vineyards, which produce one of the finest spumantis in Italy. The villa,
transformed into a deluxe hotel, is situated in the hills, between the
Alps and Lake Iseo, a region where the great wines of Franciacorta are
produced.
The
landscape surrounding this Lombardy culinary vacation is magical, and
the area is a microclimate, with mild temperatures. The hotel has an
indoor/outdoor pool with Jacuzzi, sauna, solarium, tennis, health trail,
and close access to golf, horseback riding, sailing and windsurfing.
About the cooking lessons: The hotel hosts the two star Michelin Ristorante
Gualtiero Marchesi- arguably the most famous chef in all of Italy- where
you will be treated to a gourmet dinner of menu degustation. Your cooking
courses will be held in a local, well-known restaurant, where you will
have the opportunity to participate in hands-on classes of preparation
of dishes of local Northern cuisine.
