Passport to Provence

It was unbelievable! The location was something out of a movie, a dream. Hostelerie Berard and La Cadiere D'Azur will forever be in our memories. Chef Rene' Berard is a down to earth, kind, funny and extremely skilled man, a true gentleman with a true passion for what he does. We were both extremely impressed with not only the amount of information we received, but also with the welcome sense of belonging Chef Berard exuded. Seriously, I couldn't begin describing our excitement. Every participant was just as eager as us, and we all bonded and enjoyed every moment immensely. The only thing I think should be emphasized to all participants is the need for a car. This was not our case, we received very explicit instructions and information regarding this, but a couple of participants didn't have a car. Rodrigo M., WA

The setting was magical, like out of a dream. We approached the entrance to the Bastide where our room was and where the classes are held, we entered through gates on a road lined with Irises ( white, purple, blue and purple/white) in full bloom, we looked to the right of the road and we encountered the most amazing display of roses that I have ever seen, all of them growing on trellises. The cherry trees were loaded with ripe fruit, strawberries ready for picking. We arrived to the Provencal style house built in the 12th century that overlooks the lavender, the olive trees, swimming pool, grape vines. Our rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. Chef Berard was charming and a great teacher, everybody in the group was nice. The classes are really "hands on" with phenomenal food. All in all a "10". Truly a wonderful experience. ( The breakfast on the veranda was faboulous and delicious!) Cecilia H., CA

It was fabulous - Chef Berard was charming, Miriam the interpreter was excellent, the food was amazing, and the guest facilities at the school (we stayed at the Bastide) were perfect. I felt like I was in a dream. All the flowers were in bloom, the sun shone, etc, etc. The best part of the trip was that the group was made up mostly of other singles, with few couples, so we became real friends with each other, and got together after the school.
